Establish a Business in Belize

Firstly, to register a Business in Belize, the Belize Companies & Corporate Affairs Registry asks for the individual(s) to present an original valid ID, which could be either a Social Security Card, Voter's ID or a Belizean Passport. They are then asked to fill out the appropriate Forms, which are Forms 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, and 11.
 
 
• Form 1 is for a Sole Proprietor,
• Form 2 for a Partnership,
• Form 3 and 11 go together, this is for a Company already registered applying for a Business Name, like a Subsidiary,
• From 6 is for registering any change within the Business, for example , a change of address of the individuals, change of ownership by adding ,removing or transferring,
• Form 9 is for the Cessation of any Business.
 
The Cost to register a Business Name is Twenty Five ($25.00) Belize Dollars.
 
To Register Companies, one needs to submit a Memorandum of Association and a Articles of Association, the cost to register is based on the share capital, the norm is 10,000 shares , for the norm the cost to register is Five Hundred and Eighty Four ($584.00) Belize Dollars.
 
N.B. Please note well that foreigners cannot register a business by themselves unless  they hold a Permanent Residence Card from the Immigration Department. If the foreigner does not have this card then they will need to register the Business along with a Belizean Partner.
