Procedure for Registration of Business Names

File with Registrar:-

1. Application (in the form of a letter) requesting that the Business be registered pursuant to the Registration of Business Names Act CAP 281

2. Statement of Particulars containing the following;

i. The Business Name

ii. The general nature of the business

iii. The principal place of business

iv. In the case where the registration to be effected is that of a firm, submit the Christian name and surname and former Christian name or surname, the nationality, the usual residence, and the other business occupation (if any) of each of the  individuals which are partner, and the corporate name and registered or principal office of every corporation which is a partner;

v. Where the registration to be effected is that of  an individual, the present Christian a name and surname, any former Christian name and surname, the nationality, the usual residence, and the other business occupation (if any) of such  individual:

vi. Where the registration to be effected is that of a corporation, its corporate name and registered or principal office, and

vii. The date of the commencement of the business.

The required fee for Registration of the Business Names is EC$25.

Procedure for Incorporation of Companies

File with Registrar:-

1. A request for  Name Search ad Reservation (Fee EC$10.00)

On approval and reservation, file:-

2. Articles of Incorporation
3. Notice of Address of Registered Office
4. Notice of Directors

On incorporation of a Non-Profit Company, incorporator must also file along with documents prior writeen approval of the Attorney General

All documents must be filed in duplicate.

Fees - Companies Limited by Shares - $2500.00
       - Companies without share capital (non-profit) - $100


N.B. While individuals registering a business may choose to use the services of a lawyer, it is highly recommended that the procedure for Incorporation of Companies be handled by a local lawyer.
