**NEW**I have the honour this morning to extend greetings and welcome you to the CSME Sensitization Seminar geared towards Labour and Business Entrepreneurship. I must commend the CSME Secretariat, for proposing these region-wide seminars, as they provide a forum in which Trade Unions, Government Agencies and the Private Sector can interface and become more sensitized on the role and benefits of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.
  
 

 
   
 

I am indeed delighted to participate in this forum hosted by the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development (MLSMED) on the critical issue of Labour Administration in the context of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

  
 

 
   
 
As the year earmarked for the implementation of the Single Market component of the CSME, this region has been true to its word. On January 30th 2006, all Member States participating in the CSME reaffirmed their commitment to the regional integration process by either signing on to the Declaration of the coming into being of the CARICOM Single Market (CSM) or the Declaration of Intent.
  
 

 
   
 

**NEW** An initiative of the National Public Education Programme, the Annual National Primary Schools’ CSME Poster Painting Competition is a collaborative effort between the CSME Unit of Trinidad and Tobago and the Ministry of Education and has been held in Trinidad and Tobago since 2006. The Poster Painting Competition targets students in Form Four to ensure that students obtain a basic understanding of the CSME in preparation for SEA Examinations.
