The Annual National CSME Primary Schools’ Poster Painting Competition

BRIEF HISTORY

An initiative of the National Public Education Programme, the Annual National Primary Schools’ CSME Poster Painting Competition is a collaborative effort between the CSME Unit of Trinidad and Tobago and the Ministry of Education and has been held in Trinidad and Tobago since 2006. The Poster Painting Competition targets students in Form Four to ensure that students obtain a basic understanding of the CSME in preparation for SEA Examinations.

THEME

The theme for the 2006 Poster Painting competition is:

Under the CSME, CARICOM produced Goods can move freely to all participating Member States.

STUDY GUIDES

This competition is open to all Standard Four students and is geared towards individual students.

 

Students should check with their School’s Principal to view the CSME DVD which was distributed too ALL Primary Schools in Trinidad and Tobago by the CSME Unit last year. After watching the CSME Information DVD, students can then paint their impressions of the theme “Under the CSME, CARICOM produced Goods can move freely to all participating Member States.”

 

Students are also advised that information, apart from what has been provided by the CSME Unit, can also be obtained from the following websites: www.csmett.com ;    www.caricom.org or by web – searching.

 

BREAKDOWN OF COMPETITION

This competition will commence on Monday 1st October, 2007.    Each school will choose one finalist per school and submit his/her painting to the CSME Unit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs by no later than Wednesday 31st October, 2007.

 

Judging to determine the finalists -1st 2nd and 3rd place winners and special mention awardee of the competition will take place on Monday 5th November, 2007.    These finalists will then be invited to the Prize Giving Ceremony on Wednesday 14th November, 2007 at the Knowsley Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The second place school will receive an Art Supplies Voucher of $750 and Plaque; the 2nd place student will receive an Mp3 player, a Plaque, a Book voucher of $500 from R.I.K Ltd and a Certificate of participation.

-          Art Supplies Voucher for school

-          Certificate of participation

 

The third place school will receive an Art Supplies Voucher of $500 and a plaque; the 3rd place student will receive a CD player, a Plaque, a Book voucher of $400 from R.I.K Ltd and a Certificate of participation.

A Special Mention Prize of an Art Supplies Voucher/ Art Set of $350 and a certificate of participation will be awarded to one student.
