The CSME Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to advise
that the Third Annual National Primary Schools' CSME Poster Painting
Competition is scheduled for the period Wednesday 15th October to
Friday 7
th
November, 2008.
The Competition is intended to target students of Standard Four and
seeks to elicit from them their thoughts and understanding of the CSME.
Teachers are advised to make reference to the DVD on the CSME that
was distributed to all primary schools two years ago and the CSME Activity
booklet that was distributed last year. This will assist students'
understanding of the CSME.
It is hoped
that students from each school will find this competition interesting and as
such will be excited to participate. Kindly note that all
posters must be submitted (post marked) no later than Friday 7th
November 2008.
THEME:
“The Free Movement of People is
an important factor in bringing together the participating Member States of the
CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).”
POSTERS
ARE TO BE DESIGNED TO REFLECT ANY ASPECT OF THE
ABOVE THEME.
RULES OF THE
COMPETITION

This competition is open to all
Primary Schools in
Trinidad
and Tobago
·
Only students of Standard Four
are eligible
·
Schools are to submit not more
than TWO (2) entries
*
·
Posters are to be done using
water-based or coloured drawing media e.g. watercolors, coloured inks, pastels,
coloured pencils etc.

should be fixed.
·
Posters should not be larger
than 11” x 17” or 30cm x 40cm
·
Posters are to be submitted to
the
CSME Unit Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, Sunjet House,

7th November, 2008

The decision of the judges is
final.
·
All winning posters become the
property of the CSME Unit and can be used for promotion purposes.
·
Posters should be labelled (
on the back) with the name of the
participant, school, standard, age and title of poster.
PRIZES/AWARDS
Prizes will be
awarded
for 1st, 2nd,
3rd places. Two Honourable Mention awards will also be made to
students whose work in the opinion of the judges deserves as such. The first
place also attracts a School award.
Prizes and
awards will be distributed at a Prize Giving Ceremony on Thursday 20th
November, 2008 at the National Library of Port of Spain (NALIS).
